Open publication - Free publishing - More khayelitsha Since 2007, in response to the growing epidemic of drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) in Khayelitsha, Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), the City of Cape Town and the Provincial Government of the Western Cape are carrying out a pilot project to provide treatment to DR-TB patients at the primary care level. Khayelitsha is a township with one of the highest burdens of HIV infection and tuberculosis across South Africa and globally.

MSF, TAC, City of Cape Town, and Western Cape Province Department of Health show decentralised integrated TB/HIV care results in improved outcomes   Khayelitsha, South Africa – Full TB/HIV integration must become a national reality now.
