SMS JOIN and help our doctors respond.

With your regular SMS contribution, you are joining a group of thousands of South Africans who want to help Doctors Without Borders to provide impartial and independent life-saving medical care where it is needed the most. Thank you.

Please read the Terms and Conditions related to your SMS donation: 
 

Steps to subscribe:

Step 1: Send the message JOIN to 41486 to donate R15 per month, or to 43845 if you want to donate R30 per month or 42537 for R50 per month.
Step 2: you will receive a confirmation message for your donation.
Step 3: you will receive a phone call from MSF to thank you for your generosity.
Step 4: every month, on the day of your first donation, your contribution will be coming off your airtime and you will receive a message to remind you of your support. 
 

Steps to unsubscribe:

Option 1

Step 1: You can SMS “STOP” to 41486 for a R15 donation, or to 43845 for the R30 donation or to 42537 for R50 donation.
Step 2: you will receive an SMS confirming your immediate cancellation.

Option 2 
Step 1: Call 086 110 MIRA (6472).
Step 2: press 1 for unsubscribe, type in your cell number and press the # key or press 2 for an operator who will log your request.
Step 3: You will receive a confirmation SMS as soon as your unsubscribe request has been logged. It will contain the details of the content provider that deducted your airtime.

Mira Networks Ltd (www.miranetworks.net) is the WASPA member chosen by MSF to provide this service. Mira Networks is a member of WASPA (Wireless Application Service Providers Association), and as such complies with all regulations and industry best practice. In 2005, Mira was part of the group of companies that signed a very comprehensive and well-considered code of conduct, which governs the way we interact with and protect consumers with cell phone data.

The WASPA Code of Conduct seeks to ensure that members of the public can use mobile services with confidence, assured that they will be provided with accurate information about all services and the pricing associated with those services. The Code aims to equip customers and consumers with a mechanism for addressing any concerns or complaints relating to services provided by WASPA members, and a framework for impartial, fair and consistent evaluation and response to any complaints made.

The Code of Conduct also sets standards for advertising mobile application services, and includes a framework for the provision of adult services, to ensure adequate protection of children from potentially harmful content. For a full copy of the WASPA Code of Conduct, visit www.waspa.org.za.

Please note that this donation service must only be used with the permission of a parent or guardian. Consumers who have problems with subscription services or any content should lodge formal complaints to the SMS regulator: WASPA (www.waspa.org.za). WASPA undertakes to act against non-compliant services.
