MSF Zimbabwe newsletter is a bi-annual newsletter that highlights MSF’s medical activities in Zimbabwe. This edition covers activities that took place in the Zimbabwe mission in the first half of 2019.
It includes stories from the catastrophic Cyclone Idai that ravaged parts of Manicaland, Zimbabwe in March this year. We share testimonies from our staff members as well as testimonies from some survivors of the cyclone.
The newsletter also includes success stories on cervical cancer screening and treatment, sexual and reproductive health services provided in Mbare, testimonies from staff who have been on detachment in other MSF Missions, among other issues.
In Zimbabwe, MSF works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC), Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare and the City of Harare health department to provide treatment, care and support for people living with HIV and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like hypertension and diabetes.
MSF also provides support for cervical cancer prevention and early treatment, returned migrants, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions, adolescent sexual and reproductive health services and emergency preparedness.
MSF projects are currently located in Beitbridge, Chipinge, Gutu, Harare and Mutare.
