Drug-resistant TB

Ukraine: Delivering medical care in the Warzone

With continued fighting in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, MSF is providing medical supplies, including dressings, bandages, syringes, antibiotics and stretchers, to hospitals in the region.

MSF has been working in Donetsk since 2011, running a program to treat patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis within the regional penitentiary system.

Since March 2014, MSF has also been running a mental health program to provide counseling to victims of violence, as well as technical and emotional support for mental health professionals who were delivering psychological care.

Mental health professionals have been trained in psychological first aid, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, anxiety, and stress management.
