HPCSA BULLETINS: Angel of mercy

Home for ER practitioner Dr Vanessa Naidoo is currently the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) compound at the Batil refugee camp in the Republic of South Sudan. This is an isolated and inaccessible part of the country, which makes Vanessa's job in the in-patient department and emergency room at the tent clinic all the more difficult. Trained as an anaesthetist, Naidoo hails from Cape Town. She joined MSF in February this year and has recently completed two contracts, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Her third mission, to South Sudan, started in August. She returned to South Africa late last year.
