Nearly 2 million people have been displaced inside Borno State due to the ongoing conflict. People have sought shelter, or have been relocated, to different sites. In some locations, displaced live in closed garrison towns or camps where they are dependent on external assistance to survive. Some have been there for two years and are effectively stranded there as the security situation does not allow them to go home. Our patients are telling us harrowing stories of extreme violence perpetrated by Boko Haram or the military.
