NEW AGE: SA activist off to Geneva

It's been nine months since South African TB activist Phumeza Tisile was cured of extensively drug resistant TB (XDR-TB) which had ravaged her body for two years leaving her permanently deaf... Now the 23 year old from Cape Town is headed to the 67th session of the World Health Assembly (WHA)... The disease is the number one cause of death in South Africa, with an estimated 500 000 cases of active TB diagnosed in 2013... According to charity organisation Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Khayelitsha where Tisile comes from, accounts for over 25% of all of the Cape Town metropolitan areas' TB cases.
