MSF Association

We are a field-based network engaging MSF professionals from over 100 countries in a shared commitment to medical humanitarian action.
The association brings together individuals in formal and informal debates and activities - in the field, in general assemblies at national and regional levels, and in an annual international assembly.

We are a field-based network engaging MSF professionals from over 100 countries in a shared commitment to medical humanitarian action.

Through the activities of the MSF association, members have the right and responsibility to voice their opinions and contribute to the definition and guidance of our social mission. The association brings together individuals in formal and informal debates and activities - in the field, in general assemblies at national and regional levels, and in an annual international assembly.

Because the people making the decisions are current or former field and office staff, MSF remains relevant to the needs in our projects, and focused on medical care and on our core principles: medical ethics, independence, impartiality and neutrality.

Today, the international MSF network is composed of 38 association groups around the world.

Each of them is an independent legal entity registered in the country where they operate – they are non-profit organisations in their own countries. Each elects their own board of directors and president during their General Assembly.

They are from 21 main national offices in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. There are also branch offices* in Argentina, China, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Finland, India, Ireland, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, Uruguay. MSF International is based in Geneva.”
