JOB OVERVIEW

The MSF SA Field HR unit generally recruits and manages international field workers from the region and around the world. Professionals who meet the required criteria as defined by MSF are recruited, ensuring equity, transparency and objectivity in all steps of the process. The Recruiter assess the needs, targets the required profiles and recruits to contribute to the HR operational and MSF SA section needs. The position requires quality work, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

 

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the application Process

Sourcing:

  • Collaborating with selected MSF partners worldwide ensures the Operations Centre Brussels’s
  • Sourcing Strategy and guarantees diversity in recruitment sources.
  • Advise and guide Management on recruitment and selection policies, practices and procedures
  • Planning and executing bulk recruitment projects for emergency missions
  • Identifies and uses diverse recruitment sources to receive targeted profiles (associations, social media, digital networks, etc.) with a specific drive for critical positions.
  • Facilitating job descriptions and job grading processes along with line managers
  • Participating in the Employment Equity and Workplace Forum Committees
  • Prepare advertisements for potential candidates and select the most appropriate method for sourcing candidates
  • Updating and designing the MSF recruitment policy
  • Leading, training and coaching the recruitment team
  • Ensures the development of creative and targeted outreach and recruitment strategies for assigned region(s) and professional profiles, and implements plans in collaboration with other members of other MSF Operation Centres
  • Screening of all applications received and providing timeous feedback to applicants.
  • Implementation of the selection process as per the MSF SA Recruitment policy, and ensuring the quality of the process.
  • Conducting technical competency checks, competency-based interviews and facilitation of the intake process.
  • Collection and verification of candidate documents and credentials.
  • Manages the communication with candidates for recruitment and provides all necessary documents and information for an accurate and comprehensive understanding of the organisation’s values, way of operating, working conditions and other critical information.
  • Provides information on MSF and opportunities for working in the field to potential applicants
  • Acts as a spokesperson for MSF in “marketing” the organisation to potential recruits
  • Facilitates international recruitment meetings with MSF Operation Centre representatives as the need arises
  • Manages potential pools of candidates to be recruited at the right time.
  • Collaborate with other international stakeholders to ensure suitable profiles are prioritised for recruitment.
  • Advising line managers on company policies and recruitment best practices
  • Working with the Employment Equity Committee to ensure compliance
  • Contributes to departmental planning and participates in international HR discussions
  • Organise intake assessment in collaboration with respective local and international stakeholders.
  • Maintain and improve recruitment tools and applicant tracking systems
  • Interacts and coordinates recruitment activities with other stakeholders.
  • Conducts the Orientation of new employees
  • Attending international healthcare conferences and job fairs
  • Maintaining and updating the candidate database

Supervision:

  • Coordinate the Friends of MSF (FoMSF) society programs in various universities within South Africa.
  • Ensure all FoMSF activities are carried out according to the agreed MoU and MSF guidance.
  • Monitor and report FoMSF activities.
  • Manage interns and committees that run FoMSF activities.

 

REQUIRMENTS

Education:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Marketing or Social Sciences

 

Knowledge and skills:

  • 2 years’ experience with MSF or other international organisations.
  • 6 years of working experience in a related capacity.
  • Fluent command of English. Portuguese or French is an advantage.
  • Digital marketing experience.
  • Valid driver’s License

Terms and Conditions of Employment:

  • Open-ended contract.
  • Position Level: 6
  • Monthly Salary: R33723.45
  • 13th Cheque in November.
  • 10% additional pension contribution.
  • 100% Medical Aid Contribution.
  • Transport allowance.
  • Cell phone allowance.
