An MSF Epicentre survey conducted of our long-term HIV/TB project called ‘Bending the Curves’ in Eshowe, KwaZulu Natal province in South Africa has confirmed that the area has achieved the UNAIDS-endorsed treatment target of 90-90-90, with a result of 90-94-95, a year ahead of the 2020 deadline set by UNAIDS in order to end the AIDS epidemic. MSF believes that its community based interventions across the treatment pathway – prevention, testing, treatment, and adherence – as well as the strong partnerships built from the start were key to reaching 90-90-90.
