Speakers

Andrew Mews
Andrew Mews

Andrew Mews joined MSF in 2005 as a logistician working in Zimbabwe. Over the past 16 years, he has also worked in DRC, Central African Republic, Nigeria, Chad, South Africa, and Lesotho in various capacities, including as Head of Mission/Country Representative for MSF. In 2020, Andrew was confirmed as the new Executive Director of MSF Southern Africa. Since 2016, Andrew has held a Private Pilot’s Licence and intends to see as much of South Africa by air over the next few years as he can!

Dianne Richards
Dianne Richards

Dianne Richards is the Operations Manager for the Old Mutual Foundation. She is also responsible for overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of the Foundation’s social investment programmes nationally. Dianne also works closely with the broader management team of Old Mutual’s Gauteng Provincial Management Board in driving Old Mutual’s strategic agenda in the province which includes the support of SMMEs and socio-economic development projects.

Academically qualified in the fields of Human Resources, Education, Training and Development, Financial Planning and Community Development, and with over eight years’ experience in the socio-economic development space, Dianne has a passion for community, enterprise, and people development.

Lilja Lakić
Lilja Lakić

Lilja Lakić is the Fundraising Director at MSF Southern Africa. She joined the section in September 2020, her role is to design, coordinate and evaluate MSF SnA fundraising activities and manage the fundraising team. Lilja works to inspire and engage the Southern African philanthropic community to take action and to save lives around the world through financial support towards MSF projects. For the last ten years, Lilja worked in an array of International NGOs in South Africa to financially sustain their causes which have ranged from Social Development to Women's Rights and Social Justice. Prior to entering the world of fundraising, Lilja worked as a creative and business owner in the Interior Design space.

Donald Zhou
Donald Zhou

Donald joined MSF in 2009 and is currently a Regional Community Engagement Coordinator leading an ambitious team in operations and community engagement. The team he leads is responsible for capacitation initiatives and sustainability of health programmes in areas where MSF operations have finalized. Donald is also leading initiatives to support CBOs (Community Based Organizations) in Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe to become sustainable. Prior to this role, Donald worked as a Health Promotion Manager at MSFs Rustenburg Project. He led a dynamic, passionate, and committed team of multidisciplinary health professionals who responded to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). Donald holds a master’s degree in development studies and his focus is on community approaches to Health.
