Migrants face police brutality and harsh conditions in Paris

01 February 2017

Testimonies from two asylum seekers, who like scores of others were unable to secure accommodation at a humanitarian center operated since November 2016 by the French authorities in the Porte de La Chapelle area of northern Paris.

Unfortunately, there are not enough places for everyone, leaving scores of migrants to sleep rough, exposed to the cold and police operations.

In early January 2017, when these testimonies were, it was raining in Paris and temperatures varied between -6 and 10 degrees Celsius.
