In 2025, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) provided emergency surgery for patients with violence-related injuries in Cameroon’s volatile Far North region, and helped tackle outbreaks of infectious diseases.
The conflict in the Lake Chad Basin continues to have a severe impact on communities in northern Cameroon. Many people have been displaced and injured during repeated incursions by armed groups. Throughout 2025, MSF maintained support to the emergency surgery department at Mora district hospital, treating patients with violence-related wounds and trauma.
