MSF Zimbabwe Newsletter: Issue 1, 2019

MSF Zimbabwe newsletter is a bi-annual newsletter that highlights MSF’s medical activities in Zimbabwe.

This edition covers activities that took place in the Zimbabwe mission in the second half of 2018.

It includes updates on MSF’s cholera intervention in Zimbabwe, water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions offered, the new models of HIV treatment introduced in the hard to reach areas of Mwenezi, the launch of the Chronic Care Clinic in Chipinge, the opening of the adolescent clinic in Mbare, Harare, testimonies from staff who have used Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in their work as well as experiences of staff members who have been on detachment in other MSF Missions, among other issues.

In Zimbabwe, MSF works in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC), Ministry of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare, and the City of Harare health department to provide treatment, care, and support for people living with HIV, drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like hypertension and diabetes.

MSF also provides support for cervical cancer prevention and early treatment, returned migrants, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions, adolescent sexual and reproductive health services, and emergency preparedness.

MSF projects are currently located in Beitbridge, Chipinge, Gutu, Harare, and Mutare.
