Diabetes is a non-communicable disease that is common in our communities. By definition, it is a metabolic disease that causes high blood sugar. High blood sugar is caused by the irregular function of the hormone insulin, which is meant to regulate your sugar levels.

Untreated high blood sugar can damage your nerves, eyes, kidneys and other organs.
