We run projects in partnership with the Zimbabwean Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC), which includes treatment and care for people living with HIV, health programmes for migrants, adolescent sexual and reproductive health and environmental health.
Under the health programme for migrants in Beitbridge, MSF teams offer medical assistance to migrants and deportees according to their specific health needs. In Tongogara Refugee Camp, we provide refugees and asylum seekers with mental healthcare.
We also offer comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare services for adolescents in the urban districts of Mbare and Epworth and support the health ministry in responding to disease outbreaks.

Since February 2023, our teams have been supporting the Ministry of Health and Child Care in responding to cholera outbreaks in the Chegutu, Beitbridge, Buhera, Harare, and Chitungwiza districts. In addition to providing treatment and medical supplies, we have carried out infection prevention and control, surveillance, and awareness-raising activities and implemented measures to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.
In the capital, Harare, we continued to run our adolescent sexual reproductive health project. Our teams conducted consultations in youth-friendly settings at Mbare clinic and Epworth youth centre, offering treatment for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and providing safe abortion and post-abortion care. The project also ensures that adolescents and young people in Mbare have access to mental health and psychosocial support.
In October, we started a new project in Gwanda district, Matabeleland South province, working with artisanal miners and host communities. Through a community outreach clinic, we offer a range of services, including screening and treatment for STIs and HIV, as well as family planning.
In June, we handed over the migrant health project we had been running in southern Zimbabwe to the Ministry of Public Labour and Social Welfare and the Ministry of Health and Child Care. For five years, we had been providing medical and mental health care to migrants and deportees at the border town of Beitbridge and in satellite projects in Plumtree and Tongogara refugee camp.
